Who We Are

RAINBOW FOUNDATION INDIA (RFI) is a National-level, Pan-India Organization registered under the Societies Registration Act, committed to providing comprehensive care for street, homeless, and marginalized children in urban areas. Through our flagship initiative, the Rainbow Homes Program (RHP), we offer a holistic model of support for some of the world's most vulnerable children, many of whom have faced abandonment, abuse, violence, and exploitation. By reaching children often excluded from mainstream education, we provide a vital alternative to criminalization and a path to a brighter future.

Our extensive network comprises Rainbow Homes, Sneh Ghars, residential hostels, and Rainbow Community Care & Learning Centres (RCCLCs). Another important component of our work is the Futures Program, which specifically supports and nurtures older children and young adults as they transition to independence. Our effective care model has been officially recognized by UNICEF and adopted into government policy, a testament to its success.

To be an Indian organization in which the most marginalized and disadvantaged child is reached and cared for by organizations of disadvantaged people, with strong contributions of the state, as well as local civil society in every city creating a movement of caring of the dispossessed for the dispossessed.

OUR APPROACH

The safety and security of every child is our top priority. All our homes strictly adhere to a robust Child Protection Policy, aligned with the Juvenile Justice Act and the Right to Education Act. We actively empower children by involving them in decision-making through initiatives like Bal Sabhas, ensuring our homes are truly nurturing and child-focused. We provide continuous support for their education, plans, and eventual transition to self-sufficient living, so they can lead happy and fulfilled lives. We are proud to see our older children become self-reliant and achieve their aspirations.
