Residential Care
Safe homes with education and comprehensive care
Rainbow Homes & Sneh Ghars: Rainbow Homes for girls and Sneh Ghars for boys are set up exclusively for the most vulnerable children that require residential spaces created in the existing government schools and unused government-owned buildings. Rainbow Homes provide comprehensive long-term care to these children. The approach of these residential homes is voluntary, non-custodial, i.e. children make an informed choice to leave the streets, and parents retain contact with children. RHP strives to scale the model and advocate for comprehensive care and quality standards with concerned government departments and childcare organisations. All the norms of the Juvenile Justice Act are complied with in the running of the Rainbow Homes.
Residential Hostels: The children who have to leave the Rainbow Homes by order of the authorities but don't have dignified shelter and security with their parents get continued comprehensive care and education in Residential hostels. Such children enrol in other available residential boarding hostels run by private/government-aided schools with a proven track record. Rainbow services are available for these children, and RHP monitors the quality of service provided by these hostels.
